Spring is finally here! Well in most of the U.S. it is, chicago on the other hand…it was snowing a just week ago and then the next day was 70 degrees. I’m still telling my self its nice out so I’m working on some fun content to share for this spring. Yes, I know its been a hot minute since the last time I shared some fashion posts but I promise the wait is almost over. Untill then I’m going to share some affordable trendy pieces that you can right now all for under $100.
Tie dye was one trend I was not super excited about. I couldn’t wrap my head around the cringey tie dye I wore at summer camp being used to look chic, but a lot of designers have done a really good job making it look fresh and clean. I love this utility suit its super on trend with the utility trend and it uses enough tie-dye to make it fun but not scream summer camp.
Your feet will thank you for throwing you super high heels to the side for a while to wear these strappy low heeled sandals. I love this trend its very feminine and great for spring/summer. This trend instantly changes a boring outfit to chic and classy.
Brighten up your wordrobe with some fun, colorful denim. I’m super excited about this trend because I love really taking in the new season and wearing fun colors. I love these skirt and jacket sets I’ve been seeing everywhere, super cute for lunch or a day out shopping.
Acid wash denim
Since I am a denim addict, of course, I was excited when I saw this trend and of course, I already owned a pair of acid wash jeans. I love this denim trend because you can have a super simple outfit but it looks fresh and new with these fun jeans. And for a simplistic person like me, that’s what I need
I was surprised to see everyone raving about beaded bags still because they got big last year but died due to the season. I geass not enough people got a chance at them last year so here they are again and I’m loving it. I love beaded anything, not sure why but I do. I love these bags for going to beach or a beach themed outfit but I’ve seen them styled super well with dresses and casual outfits as well.
Since spring is just around the corner and I bet everyone is starting to think more health-oriented, I wanted to share my smoothie tips and tricks for a yummy and healthy smoothie. If you have not noticed almost every day on my Instagram story (@brooke.annafp) I have some smoothie or smoothie bowl, I am just simply obsessed. Everyone is always asking me “Those look so good, how do you make them?” or “How do you make a good smoothie?” and today I am here to answer your questions! Since making a smoothie is basically as simple as just blending fruit I’m sharing my tips on how I make really good and of course pretty. To start out with that basics I would like to share my simple formula:
Yep its as simple as that to begin with, but I have my tips to make it really great and pretty:
Use vanilla yogurt
Use drinkable yogurt
Use half frozen, half fresh fruit
Source where you get your ingredients ( I love whole foods)
Use raw honey
Use organic everything, if you can.
Find granola you like…Or make it your self (sneak peek for a future post…)
For a pretty colored smoothie adding certain berries will make different colors: blue berrys=purple, raspberrys=red, black berrys= dark purple
Use freshly squeezed juice or use your favorite
Lemonade is always great for liquid
If you want a kick in your smoothie to add something carbonated like carbonated juice or lemonade
If you are adding protein powders or anything of that sort. Find a product that you really like on its own or something you can’t taste at all in the smoothie. Powders can easyly ruin the whole taste of the smoothie
I hope this answered some of your guys questions or at least inspired you to make your very own famous smoothies. I often post recipes on my instagram story so if you guys would like to follow along follow me on instagram @brooke.annafp.

Comment below or message me on Instagram (@brooke.annafp) if you have any shows your watching right now that I should check out…I will fangirl with you!
I’m super excited to share this post with you guys because I love personalized things, especially for gifts. I’ve partnered with Sincerely Silver which is a beautiful jewelry brand that creates many unique personalized jewelry. They have so many cool ways to personalize jewelry from fingerprints to sound waves…you have to admit that’s pretty cool! I got the Roman numeral necklace and I got to choose whatever numbers I wanted. I chose the date I met my boyfriend but, you can do any numbers you want. I really liked that the numbers were in Roman numerals and engraved on a bar, I just like the look layered with other gold necklaces (style tip!). The quality is great and it is very affordable! If you are looking for a gift for someone I would definitely check out all of Sincerely Silvers products because everything is very personal and a great go-to gift. Also, I would like to add that the shipping was unbelievably quick. Normally when you get something personalized it takes a bit longer because it has to be made but I got my necklace the same week I ordered it.
To close I would just like to mention that this was a great product that I would recommend to a friend and I will be buying more from this brand in the future. You can go buy this necklace for ONLY $45 at this link below!
I am crazy about bikini’s and I have a million of them. Since spring break is coming up I like to get some new swimsuits especially for my trip and I want to share some of my favorite places to buy swimsuits to help you get cute Bikinis at a great price and quality.
Zaful is a great place to get swimsuits if you want really cheap sets. The bikinis are soo cute and trendy. The only problems are that the quilty is not amazing and sometimes the sizing gets off because you can’t pick a different size for the top and bottom you have to get both in the same size. If you are the same size on the top and bottom you should be ok. Overall I love the Bikinis I’ve gotten from there and I am collaborating with zaful so you guys can use my code anytime to get 15% off sitewide. I will also put a link below
If you haven’t checked out Asos yet you are missing out. Asos carriess many brands from high end to very affordable. They don’t just carry bikini’s they carry every thing from clothes to skin care. They have so many bikini options I promise that you will find one thats for you.
Lahana swim is a bit more pricey than the average brand, but they have the cutest styles and great quality. They’re style is very bohemian chic and would be great for a trip to Mexico or anywhere tropical.
I got this sweater way back in August but I still wanted to share it because it’s a great example of how you can DIY your own sweaters to make them unique and new again because we all get tired of our closets and need to just revamp some peices a little.
I originally got this sweater at TopShop and yes it did already have the ribbons looped through the knitting but the first thing I thought when I saw was… you could so do this with any regular sweater and give an old sweater life again. All you would need is a sweater and some ribbon and just loop the ribbon through the stitching in what ever pattern you like. This sweater has the ribbons randomly places all around and the extra ribbon just hangs down, but if you want another look you can arrange the ribbons differently. Also I would suggest securing the ribbon where you want it by just glowing or sewing the end on the inside because this sweater doesn’t have any ends secured and while wearing it I’m always worried about pulling the ribbons out.
With this sweater, I styled a pair of Brockenbow jeans (by the way they have super cute great quality jeans I would definitely go check them out). This pair very small circular rips at the knees and I love them because they are so unique I haven’t seen any other jeans with this feature. Finally, I wore some of my favorite wedge booties from steve madden which I have been wearing non-stop this winter because they are so comfy and they have a heel but I can still dress them down.
No outfit is ever done with out accessorizing! I kept it simple with Pearl studs and layered gold necklaces to add more to outfit and so the top wasn’t to plain. layering gold jewelry is super trendy right now and I love it. You can just throw on a tank top with some gold necklaces and it looks effortlessly chic and who doesn’t love an easy outfit.
Can we just take a moment and talk about how it is -20 degrees outside (I’m not exaggerating) unfortunately because Chicago decided to be in a polar vortex I haven’t been able to go out and take pictures of outfits for my lovely readers because if you walk outside right now you will turn into Olaf from frozen. Despite the cold, I am back with a super comfy outfit for cold days just like today.
For this outfit, I chose this super cute fuzzy hoodie with letters on it from Bershka. The hoodie is not real fur but my mother is convinced that it looks like a dead alphabet animal. But besides that, it’s super cute and comfy. Every comfy outfit needs a pair of leggings so here I am wearing a pair of Wunder under leggings from Lululemon. Since this is a great on the go outfit I paired it with Nike Cortez’s in rose gold because your girl loves pink. Cute hoodies and sweatshirts are always at the top of my list for winter because they are cozy and warm. Since sweats are super trendy right now you can find cute hoodies everywhere at all price points. Here are some links to where else you can find some: Topshop, Forever 21, and Bershka. Also, I now link all my outfits from Instagram and the blog on the 21 buttons app where you can follow me and buy the same items I’ve styled through the app! You can view my profile here. Also as always, I linked the whole outfit below.
Now that’s it’s winter I thought this would be a great time to write all about my hair care and what my routine is. Winter is super harsh on your skin and hair so it’s important to take care of it all year round and especially in the drier months (for Chicago it’s winter). Since I was younger I have always had curly hair so I had to learn to manage it and not leave the house with my hair looking like a mop. This made me very obsessed over the years with my hair and along the way, I’ve learned some super helpful tips that I want to share with you today.
Tip #1: Don’t wash your hair everyday
Your hair naturally makes oils to hydrate your hair, when you wash your hair every day it drys it out and your hair will produce more oil to rehydrate it. Everybody always says to me “it’s too oily, I have to wash it every day” no your hair gets used to not being washed as much and will stop producing an excessive amount of oil, allowing your hair to stay moisturized while still looking clean. Also when your hair is dry it tends to get frizzy and course and nobody wants that. A great way to start this process is to let your hair sit oily or dirty on days where you have nowhere to be that your hair has to look nice for. It does take time to train your hair to get used to not being washed every day so it’s important to stay patient and make a routine that works for you because in end your hair will look ten times better.
Tip #2: Use oils on your hair
Often times after I wash and blow out my hair it’s dry and frizzy. You never want to leave your hair dry because it will cause breakage and split ends earlier after your last haircut. Of course, we all get split ends eventually and need a haircut but you can put it off by hydrating your hair correctly. Oils are great because they smooth your hair while hydrating it at the same time, this is also a very natural and affordable method. When using oil, only put a little in your palm at a time, rub them together and run fingers through hair. Make sure not to use too much by adding a little bit at a time until you like the effect because if you add too much you will have to wash it all out and start all over. Many people can not add oil to there hair dry so if it doesn’t work I suggest putting it in your hair while it’s wet before you blow it out, many oils also work as a heat protectant as well. You can use coconut oil (tends to be a little greasy) or I love using argon or Moroccan oil (lighter feel) Sephora also has a lot of great products that do the same and are very light so your hair doesn’t look oily. I’ve mentioned many hair oils in the past I’ll link those below also.
Tip #3: Use hydrating shampoos and conditioners, and switch them out regularly
Using a hydrating shampoo’s and conditioner’s they can make a huge difference especially if you use a blow dryer on your hair after you wash it. Switching your shampoos out regularly is important because your hair gets used to the products and they will stop working as well. I switch them every time I run out. I go between three, Pantene, Tresemme and Aussie. These are all my favorites. I used to spend a ton of money on nice shampoos and conditioners and I realized it’s not worth it. I found that these shampoos and conditioners work way better than my old expensive ones that I could only seem to find at the salons. Since everyone’s hair is different try many different products and use what you find works for you and your hair.
Tip #4: Try not to use heat tools on your hair
This tip is one we all struggle with and none of us probably can say honestly that we don’t use heat tools on our hair. But I’m still mentioning it because you can diminish the damage. First Use a heat protectant. Second don’t use any flat irons or curling irons on your hair while it wet, it will burn your hair very horribly. Finally, on days you can get away without using heat on your hair like on the weekends put it up in a braid or ponytail or something. This also helps if your the type of person who gets bored of their hair quickly… ie me.
Tip #5: Get your hair trimmed regularly
After you cut off all the unhealthy ends and the damage, your hair will grow quickly but make sure you are hydrating it especially now because if your ends get dry and they are freshly cut they will break all over again. If you are trying to grow out your hair this is even more important because if your ends dry out they will have to cut off more length at your next hair appointment to make the hair healthy again, you will also lose most of your new length.
Tip #6: Use hair masks
Hair masks are great because they super hydrate your hair quickly. I like to use a mask every time before I wash my hair. You can use masks from Sephora, the drugstore or just drench your hair with oil. If you do this make sure to wash your hair really well. Sleeping with your hair in a mask is also really great. In an interview, Kim Kardashian said she dips her hair in coconut oil drenching it and then sleeps with it in. (this will ruin sheets so make sure you don’t have nice ones on or wear a shower cap and put a towel over your pillow.)
Tip #7: don’t dye your hair and if you have to get it done by a professional
A lot of people dye their hair at home and some dyes are ok to do at home but if you are bleaching your hair this is a risky game. bleaching your hair at home may be cheaper but you can permanently damage your hair. When bleaching you remove moisture from the hair causing it to become dry and brittle ultimately leading to split ends or even hair loss. Make sure if your bleaching your hair you go to a professional that you trust. Even after getting your hair done you should still moisturize it as you would your skin, using oils, leave in conditioners or hair masks.
I’m super excited about this post because I love aviator jackets so once I picked one up I had to share it. I did a trend post on aviator jackets but I wanted to share more about them because I think they will be a huge essential this fall/winter. This outfit is pretty basic but still super cute for a casual night out. This top is from forever 21 and has a slight rust colored sparkle in it. I paired this with a pair of wax coated jeans, this is another essential for the colder months because you can wear them from day to night and they are super flattering. Finally I’m just wearing a pair of block heels from Steve Madden. There are so many great essentials I’ve been posting about lately so I’m going to make one post rounding them all up, so stay tuned.
It’s starting to get chilly out and if your anything like me you’re going to start staying inside more and more because you just can’t get your self to brave the cold, because of this I wanted to share some of my favorite places to buy loungewear pieces so you can start getting cozy right away. Here I’m wearing ripped leggings which have been trendy lately and a cropped pullover sweatshirt from H&M. I chose places of all different price points that I like to shop so you can choose one among your budget. Here are some links:
